Why we created DemoHop
It's time to humanize large virtual events.
Founders' letter
As a former executive (Sean) and senior engineer (Evan), we’ve experienced firsthand the challenges that come with leading large, distributed technology teams. We’ve sat through countless Teams or Zoom meetings where a few voices dominated while hundreds of people listened passively. It was frustrating. Our teams deserved a better way for everyone to showcase their work and progress in a meaningful way.
We were inspired by the classic middle school Science Fair. We remembered it as an energetic experience where everyone could choose their own path, dive into what interested them, and celebrate the contributions of the whole community. That’s exactly what our teams were craving.
The science fair offered the ideal approach to solving this problem: giving people control to engage in a way that was personal, interactive, and inspiring.
But when we looked at typical event platforms, they were overly complicated and didn’t address the specific needs of tech teams. And then even with breakouts, everyday tools like Teams and Zoom still led to a dull, passive experience for the vast majority of attendees.
That’s why we built DemoHop—a solution designed to be simple enough for any product or tech leader to launch in minutes, scalable to support hundreds or even thousands of attendees, and packed with the enterprise-grade security, administration, reporting, and sync/async features today’s tech teams expect.
Since launching DemoHop, it’s become the go-to platform for large tech team events. Tech teams small and large use DemoHop for their quarterly planning, sprint reviews, demo days, product launches, and regular all-team meetings. Our mission is to transform these critical gatherings into high-engagement, meaningful experiences where every voice is heard.
We’re excited to help you create events where people truly connect and showcase their work in ways that matter.
Here’s to unlocking the full potential of your team!
